Artifacts
and Memorabilia at the Cowan Railroad Museum
In
the thirty-some years that the Museum has existed, many
interesting and historic educational pieces have emerged
from private collections. Most have been donated outright
and a few are on loan. It has been wonderful, the participation
of local people from the Franklin County, TN area as well
as folks from all over the country who believed in the value
of the growing Cowan RR Museum. A highly varied collection
of smaller memorabilia (railroadiana) inside the historic
Depot at Cowan is available for your scrutiny, education
and enjoyment. Many one-of-a-kind pieces reside in our collection
and are on prominent display, including some rare folk art
concerning the area or railroading.
Donating or loaning to the Cowan RR museum is easy and
very much appreciated. It is a way to share your memories
through artifacts you may have had for so long, just hidden
away. If you are unsure at to the item’s interest and value
to the public eye, just pick up the phone and call us anytime.
Someone will be glad to discuss the importance of whatever
artifact you may wish to display, no matter how large or
small. Nothing is insignificant in fleshing out the flavor
of a turn of the century Railroad Depot.
